Skull Island: Rise of Kong dated, swinging onto consoles and PC this October

The wild and forbidden Skull Island will be open to King Kong fans this October, as the ‘origin’ of the beast arrives on consoles and PC.

The big ape returns

Very much fitting into the MonsterVerse films that also showcase the likes of Godzilla, is GameMill and IguanaBee Studios’ Skull Island: Rise of Kong. The action title tells the story of the massive Kong, as he emerges into the world of Skull Island after the murder of his parents at the hands of Gaw.

A reptilian Titan, Gaw will be the centerpiece of the tale, as Kong attempts to find vengeance and lay claim to the forgotten land. Though fans of the movies should feel at home with it, the game is based on the novels by Joe DeVito, which serve as prequels to the original King Kong film.

Take on an action-packed quest to avenge the death of Kong’s parents at the hands of the ultimate alpha predator: the saurian terror Gaw. Traverse the mysterious island and uncover its secrets across a variety of treacherous environments, discovering the power coursing through its exotic flora and fauna. Conquer waves of primal beasts, defeat unique bosses, and rise above all who stand in Kong’s way to being King!

GameMill press release

Explore the mysteries of the ancient island home of monsters, and unlock Kong’s full power in Skull Island: Rise of Kong on October 17th, 2023. The game will arrive for Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as the Switch and the PC.
