Yuletide frights beckon with the Four Gathered on Christmas Eve

It might be a little too early to start thinking about Christmastime, but you might want to anyway with Four Gathered on Christmas Eve.

Christmas tales of terror

There’ll be scary ghost stories for sure this Christmas, thanks to Dark Horse Comics and a killer assortment of comics-talent. The publisher is bringing Four Gathered on Christmas Eve to horror fans, hailing from the quartet of Eric Powell, Mike Mignola, Becky Cloonan, and James Harren.

The creators will be resurrecting a long-forgotten Holiday tradition, of sharing a few frights with family and friends for the book, which will arrive just in time for the big day.

Four beloved comics storytellers come together to continue the Victorian tradition of sharing ghost stories on Christmas Eve. They will spin tales of the bizarre and terrifying to keep readers company on a cold Yule night. This is a unique approach to the ghost story format where the creators themselves become part of the story, presented in a deluxe hardcover designed by the award-winning Phil Balsman.

Powell will be lending his pencils to the book as well, illustrating both is own and James Harren’s tales. As for the rest, those will hail from their respective writers. Powell will also be coloring the book, in association with Dave Stewart, and Richard Starkings will provide the lettering.

All in all, this should be a book not to miss. Look for Four Gathered on Christmas Eve this December the 12th in book stores, and on the 13th in comics shops. The 72 page title will run you $24.99 USD, and pre-orders are open right now via AmazonBarnes & Noble, or your local comic shop and indie bookstore.
