AEW’s inaugural video game is set to have everything that makes the brand so popular… including an exploding barbed wire deathmatch mode.
Quite a while in the making, AEW: Fight Forever sure looks like it’s going to offer something truly different in terms of a modern wrestling game. That incudes a more cartoony look, fan favorite play mechanics, and of course the AEW roster of grapplers. But there’s something lurking in the game’s mode list that you might not be aware of, and it’s pretty… explosive.
A bit of a controversial inclusion? Maybe, but the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch Mode is definitely something different too. Here’s a look at it in action.
Scheduled for release on June 29 across console and PC, AEW: Fight Forever’s nostalgic arcade feel already has wrestling game purists fantasizing about their finishers. Online co-op wrestling is going completely next level with Tag-Team matches that feature sequences of team maneuvers performed with simple commands. Game modes include Ladder Match, Exploding Barbed Wire and Casino Battle Royale along with a stacked roster of popular AEW wrestlers. Fans can also enjoy career mode, wrestler customization, signature AEW arenas, and some good ol’ fashioned unsanctioned fun.THQ Nordic press release
