Prime Gaming goes to Neverwinter for June’s PC gaming freebies

The latest delivery of free Prime Gaming titles will include an RPG classic with Neverwinter Nights, as well as some terrific Luna titles.

Time to replay a classic

Well, it might not be all that current, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a finer example of PC RPG gaming than Neverwinter Nights. From Obsidian, Neverwinter brings (basically) the Baldur’s Gate formula back for another romp, in a whole new locale.

Of course, while the setting is new, Neverwinter Nights offers up the same level of play, as well as Dungeons & Dragons’ typical high-fantasy. If you love the genre, and role-playing games in general, it’s definitely worth a play. Plus this is the Enhanced Edition, so it’s a little better looking than the original that saw launch way back in 2002.

Past that, there isn’t a ton that you’re likely to know off the top of your head. But just remember, that there’s also that 8 pack of additional titles that Amazon added to Prime Gaming for May and June. You still have some time to get in on those and kick off your summer with copious freebies.

Remember that the roster of free titles rotates in and out now, so all of the above isn’t available at once. Dates are listed below.

  • June 15 The Super Spy [Amazon Games App] – Punch, kick and use weapons to defeat enemies as players make their way through a large building to rescue captives.
  • June 15 Top Hunter [Amazon Games App] – Jump, shoot, throw and perform special attacks to defeat the space pirates who aim for total domination in this side-scrolling action game.
  • June 15 SteamWorld Dig 2 [Amazon Games App] – Dig deep, gain riches and unearth the terrors of the underworld in this platform mining adventure influenced by classic Metroidvania style games.

Heads up Luna-tics

Even better than the free games for once, is the collection of streaming Luna offerings for the month. Amazon has included a modern classic in with that set, in Batman: Arkham Knight. And if that’s not your bag, maybe a little Steamworld is?

Starting on June 1, Prime members will have full access to a new slate of popular games on the Prime Gaming Channel, including Batman: Arkham Knight, Citizen Sleeper, Monster Harvest and SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition. All in all it’s a pretty solid month for those who subscribe to Prime Gaming. Remember too, that if you have Amazon Prime, you should also have access to Prime Gaming, since it’s a part of the service.
