NECA’s exclusive TMNT “Donatello’s Portable Portal Generator” goes on pre-order tomorrow

If you’re looking for a new display piece for your NECA TMNT collection, then you’re going to love what hits pre-order tomorrow.

Now you’re thinking with portals

Anybody who’s a fan of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon show can tell you all about portals. Shimmering rifts in time and space that could lead the Turtles just about anywhere, portals were seen in a few instances in that 80s show. Mainly they led to Dimension X, but that’s besides the point.

What is, is that eventually the Turtles’ resident genius Donatello created a portal-generator for the team to use. And now that’s coming home, courtesy of toy-maker NECA.

A part of the company’s “toon” line of TMNT, Donatello’s Portable Portal Generator will be a NECA store exclusive item. It is sized to display with the company’s figures, so it’s in the 7″ scale, and sports one heck of a lot of detail.

Note: Figures are not included

Standing in 7” scale, it features three interchangeable lenticular screens, allowing your Turtles to visit different locations — even alternate dimensions, just like in the cartoon! The piece is carefully detailed to look just like the one in the series, and even has an articulated lever. Comes in slick packaging that pays tribute to the original VHS home releases. Measures approximately 7.25 inches high. Action figures and other accessories not included.

NECA press release

Like what you see? Well then you’re in luck, as this little dandy of a prop goes on sale tomorrow. Or, more precisely, it goes on pre-order. NECA says that the piece won’t actually ship till this July, but you’ll be able to place your order tomorrow, February 21st (2023), starting at 11am eastern time.

Again too, I think it’s probably worth repeating that this is a NECA exclusive item. You won’t find the Portal Generator at a Target, Walmart, or even at internet retailers, so if you want one, now’s the time.

Or actually, tomorrow.
