Download a copy of GOG Galaxy 2.0 and some free games

If you don’t know, internet PC (and Mac) retailer GOG has one of the best gaming clients out there, and it’s stocked with freebies too.

Exploring the Galaxy

For a long time, GOG has been a pretty darn highly-regarded PC gaming retailer. The store offers up lists of both modern and classic titles (under its Good Old Games category), and has a bunch of perks. Unlike some other retailers, GOG is DRM-free, for example.

But a few years back, GOG also introduced GOG Galaxy. An all-encompassing PC game curation and management app, Galaxy can see and manage, curate, and launch games from all kinds of video gaming platforms. Though your mileage may vary on what functionality it has, that’s a list that includes Steam, Epic, Ubisoft, and even Microsoft and Sony’s consoles. It’s also just a great user experience, with top notch ease of use and some slick looks.

As you might imagine, the system sees pretty constant updating, and the latest version just launched a short time ago. Now to remind players to grab a copy, GOG has some freebies lined up. While these aren’t all that modern, they’re well within the parameters of the ‘Good Old Games’ moniker.

Free right now are some all time greats, including “The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, Beneath a Steel Sky, Shadow Warrior Classic,  and Ultima™ 4: Quest of the Avatar.” Some nice RPG classics there, to while away the time off this Christmas, should you be so inclined. But that’s just a small (really small) example of what you can get. Click here to check out the full list.

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
