The Valiant U is about to run red with Bloodshot Unleashed #1

“Mature Readers”? You better believe it. That’s the tag that Bloodshot Unleashed will bear, as Valiant’s hero goes all-out for his new book.

…to the wall

Granted, Bloodshot has always been a violent book. It’d have been kind of tough for it not to be after all, since it’s about a nanotech-powered killing machine and all. But what you’ve seen before promises to be outclassed by the hero’s newest run with Bloodshot Unleashed.

Debuting this fall, Valiant Comics says the new book will be its “first-ever” Mature Readers book.

Valiant Entertainment launches its first-ever Mature Readers title as theiconic action franchise returns in September with BLOODSHOT UNLEASHED. A brutally unflinching examination of who BLOODSHOT is, the action-packed new series BLOODSHOT UNLEASHED is set against a backdrop of violence that echoes his own abuse at the hands of others by pitting him against deadly rampaging monsters in small town America who reflect his own place in the Valiant Universe.

While we’re on the subject too, you might’ve noticed that there’s one cover up there in the gallery that isn’t like the others. That’d be because it’s an ‘action figure’ variant. But unlike when some other publishers have done these kinds of covers, this one’s done with a shot of an actual action figure.

From Threezero Toys, the 6″ Bloodshot figure is the first in a new line of Valiant heroes and villains. Priced in at $69.99 USD, it’s expected to arrive some time around the end of this year.

And as a tribute to that new initiative, Valiant will be running a special cover featuring the figure in each of the first 4 issues of Bloodshot Unleashed. Each one will recreate an “iconic Bloodshot moment” too, so there’ll be some neat callbacks to the character’s history.

As for Bloodshot Unleashed #1, you can look for that on the stands this September 21st.
