Trailer: Tropico 6’s “Next Gen” edition is out now

Fans of tropical-flavored strategy gaming will want to check out Tropico 6, as the dictator-simulator has made its way to the Xbox Series X|S and PS5.

El Presidente returns

Experience the islands of Tropico like never before in renewed 4K brilliance, heightening the banana republic’s panoramic views of its beautiful beaches and crystal-clear waters. Assume the role of El Presidente and play across 4 distinct eras as players take the future of Tropico and its citizens into their own hands. Play as a fearmongering dictator or peace-loving statesman and balance politics, infrastructure, economics, and work to create a sprawling tropical island paradise – for El Presidente at least. In the included Llama of Wall Street DLC players can take on big business and manipulate the stock market to influence the Tropican economy (and line El Prez’s pockets). Implement new industry-boosting buildings, alter the value of goods, influence tourist fees and face random economic events that might even put the most resilient of dictators to the test.

Kalypso press release

Tropico 6 is out right now for the Xbox Series X|S and PS5. In addition to the main game, it includes the  Llama of Wall Street and the El Prez Pack DLC.

If you’re still on last-gen, the game is also out for the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and of course the PC. And yes, there’s an upgrade to the current-gen version if you already have one of the two former editions on that list.

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
