Diamond Select’s final Lord of the Rings wave lands at retail

For now anyway, what might be the last of Diamond’s Lord of the Rings action figures have hit retail with Gandalf and an Uruk-hai Orc.

You shall not pass

Is this the last of Diamond Select Toys’ Lord of the Rings action figures? It’s tough to tell, since there’s been no announcement about a possible future of the line. Even with that in mind though, the press release for these latest wave seems to leave the door open.

But while there may be more to come, this is most definitely the last of wave 1. And it’s packed with two big-time characters, including Gandalf the Gray and a customizable Uruk-hai. What makes him “customizable”? The Uruk includes extra parts, so you can army-build him making a force of fully-armored Uruks and a helmetless captain (or whatever you like).

Each features over 16 points of articulation, and each comes packaged in a full-color window box. Designed by Eamon O’Donoghue, sculpted by Gentle Giant Studios! (JUN212274, SRP: $29.99/ea.)

The above should be available in comic shops and specialty stores (including of the online variety) now.
