Hot Toys expands Movie Masterpieces line with Spider-Man’s Doctor Octopus

On it’s game in a big way, collectible maker Hot Toys has a fantastic looking Doc Ock on the way, and the figure can be pre-ordered right now.

Hello Peter

The recently released Spider-Man: No Way Home saw actor Alfred Molina reprising his role as the villainous Otto Octavius, otherwise known as Doctor Octopus. Ock was the first of what would be a series of villain reveals for the film, and was arguably even cooler than he was in the Sam Raimi classic Spider-Man 2.

Now he’s heading for collector’s shelves too, courtesy of Hot Toys. The high-end collectible company has a Doc planned that looks like it might be one of its best figures to date. Two versions are planned, with a basic and a Special Deluxe Edition.

If you’re a big Ock fan, then you might want to go with the latter if you decide to order up. That’s because it adds in 4 more tentacles, of the nanotech variety, also packed with articulated claws and bendable wiring.

Both versions are looking at a spring 2023 release, with the basic version running $330 USD, and the Deluxe priced in at $360 USD. Both are up for pre-order via Sideshow, Hot Toys’ official retaining outlet, as well as other online toy shops.

The 1/6 Scale Doc Ock Figure features:

  • Newly developed hand-painted head sculpt with authentic and detailed likeness of Alfred Molina as Doc Ock in Spider-Man: No Way Home
  • Movie-accurate facial features, wrinkles, and skin texture 1/6 scale body with over 30 points of articulation
  • 7 interchangeable gloved hands for a variety of posing and display options
  • One long coat
  • One blazer
  • One turtleneck shirt
  • One pair of pants
  • One pair of socks
  • One pair of shoes
  • One belt
  • 4 mechanical tentacles (equipped with bendable wire) with two styles of articulated claws
  • One tentacle spear (attachable to the upper tentacles)
  • One pair of goggles
  • A specially designed dynamic figure display stand with movie logo and character nameplate

PLUS!

The Special Deluxe Edition version also features…

  • Four (4) nanotech tentacles (equipped with bendable wire) with two styles of articulated claws!
