Spider-Man and Venom lead the way for Marvel on Free Comic Book Day

A trio of free comics will be on tap from Marvel Comics for Free Comic Book Day 2022, and Spider-Man and Venom will be headlining the event.

A taste of what’s to come

According to Marvel Comics, there are going to be some ‘can’t miss’ free titles hitting comic shops for Free Comic Book day 2022. The publisher has revealed the first of the three, and it sounds like a winner.

Both Spider-Man and Venom will star in the comic, which will set up events to come in both the new run of Amazing Spider-Man, and Venom’s book.

Announced last week, Spider-Man is gearing up for a brand-new era just in time for the character’s 60th anniversary! Fans who pick up FREE COMIC BOOK DAY: SPIDER-MAN/VENOM #1 will see the very beginning of the major storylines writer Zeb Wells and legendary artist John Romita Jr. have planned for their run on AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, including Tombstone’s first steps towards becoming Spidey’s most terrifying villain.

FREE COMIC BOOK DAY: SPIDER-MAN/VENOM #1 will also give fans a chance to check out the thought-provoking work Al Ewing, Ram V, and Bryan Hitch are doing on VENOM! The groundbreaking changes this mastermind trio has in store for the symbiote mythos starts here!

Look for Spider/Venom #1 in comics shops on Free Comic Book Day 2022, May the 7th. The book should be available in most comic shops, but it’s probably best to ask at your local shop ahead of time, just to make sure they’re participating.
