Artist Jim Cheung lends his hand to new Marvel sketch cover series

A new artist series of sketch covers, from penciler Jim Cheung, is coming to some of Marvel Comics’ books to kick off the New Year.

Black and white

Featuring some of Marvel’s biggest heroes and villains, artist Jim Cheung’s new series of variant covers is going to bring in 2022 in style. The collection will include 8 styles in total, and all done in a black and white, sketch style.

As you’ll see, each will be a headshot too, with a (mostly) classic collection of Marvel heroes and villains included. The result is particularly striking, especially for a cover. They should stand out nicely on the racks.

In all, the set includes:

  • Daredevil
  • Thanos
  • Kate Bishop
  • Hulk (Gray Hulk? Maybe?)
  • Shang-Chi
  • Silver Surfer
  • (female) Loki
  • Savage Land Rogue

The books that will feature the pieces start to hit on January 12th, but we have the full schedule below.
