Kingpin assembles a new Thunderbolts in Devil’s Reign

Big things are afoot, from small beginnings. Marvel Comics’ next event, Devil’s Reign is set to make some major rumblings when it kicks off.

Like lightning

This is a little bit of a different Thunderbolts. There’s no heroism happening with this squad, as the Kingpin himself has brought it together with one goal; eliminating the heroes of his city.

With a team roster of Crossbones, Taskmaster, Typhoid Mary, Shocker, Whiplash, Rhino, and Kraven, it’s going to be a team to be reckoned with. Then again, they’re going to need all that firepower since they’ll be targeting the likes of Spider-Man, Captain America, and Wolverine.

Just about any Marvel superhero that uses NYC as a home base is going to be Fisk’s sites when Devil’s Reign kicks off this December. And while it’s got a somewhat ‘street level’ basis, it’s set to be a full-on Marvel Comics event.

As it happens, that’s just what Daredevil writer Chip Zdarsky had in mind…

“Our Daredevil plan just kept getting bigger and bigger, to the point where it would clearly affect the Marvel Universe in huge ways,” Zdarsky explained. “Thankfully, Marvel recognized this as well and gave Marco and I the opportunity to tell the story on a massive stage with DEVIL’S REIGN! This is a proper Marvel event springing from the pages of Daredevil and I think all Marvel readers will love what’s coming!”

Devil’s Reign #1 hits stands on December 1st, 2021. From there, it’ll spill into the pages of a second issue on the 15th, and Spider-Woman #18 on 29th. Marvel says to also look for crossovers with Fantastic Four, X-Men, and a new series coming in January with Devil’s Reign: Villains for Hire.
