Zombie-blasting action returns next month, when Saber Interactive’s World War Z: Aftermath shambles towards release. Pre-orders are open now.
Second war
All pre-orders include two days’ early access to the full game starting September 19.
Powered by the next generation of Saber’s dynamic Swarm Engine™, World War Z: Aftermath lets you play with up to three friends or on your own with AI teammates against hordes of ravenous zombies in two totally new story episodes set in the city of Rome (including Vatican City) and Russia’s snowbound Kamchatka peninsula.

Following up on the original runaway hit, World War Z: Aftermath is set to arrive on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC on September 21st. It will of course offer backwards-compatibility for the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 as well, and there’s also an ‘upgrade plan’ for owners of the original game.
Those who have World War Z in their libraries can buy into the new game for only $19.99 USD, a savings of $20. There’s also a Deluxe Edition heading to stores, which includes “two bonus melee weapons — the Sledgehammer and Dual Cleavers — as well as the ornate Explorer Weapon Skins Pack”. That’s priced in at $49.99 USD, and does not seem to be included in the upgrade.
