Hercules is the latest to join retro-carded Marvel Legends collection

A character who never had a classic Toy Biz card is about to get a classically-styled Toy Biz card from Hasbro. Here comes Hercules.

The Avengers other god

While he’s not the biggest character anymore, Hercules still is a Marvel mainstay. He was a presence back in the late-80s and 90s, and remains something of a fan-favorite.

He hasn’t had all that many action figures though. And that’s true whether you’re talking about Toys Biz, Hasbro, or any other company really. I can recall 2 off the top of my head, and that’s about it. Though I’m sure there were more than that. Probably.

In any event, he’s coming back around for another go, and this time it’s as a part of Hasbro’s retro-cardback series. Herc will sport the now-familiar Toy Biz card-homage that reflects the halcyon days of Marvel action figures. We’ve seen a bunch of these releases in recent years, and the style isn’t getting old yet.

As a fan who remembers these the first time around, I kind of wish Hasbro would go back to this style of packaging. It just feels ‘right’.

Retro cardback Hercules

As you can see, Hercules includes an extra portrait, as well as a spare set of hands and his golden mace. Of course, he’s also set to have that usually terrific level of Marvel Legends articulation and a top notch sculpt that reflects his most iconic look.

Hercules will start shipping out this coming October, and is priced in at $22.99 USD. He’s up for pre-order as of today, on HasbroPulse and other online toy shops, including Entertainment Earth. As always, if you order from them using the link above, BG will receive a small commission.
