Cara Dune Premium Format Figure coming up from Sideshow

As a part of Mando Monday yesterday, Sideshow Toys announced a new Premium Format Figure for actress Gina Carano’s Cara Dune and more.

The other Dune

So yesterday was Mando Monday. Yes, that’s a terrible name, but regardless of that there was a good amount of Mandalorian stuff to check out. Some of that came by way of Sideshow Toys, a high end collector-focused company.

They announced a brand new Cara Dune Premium Format Figure featuring Cara Dune. Played by actress Gina Carano, Dune has become a pretty big character, and rivals The Mandalorian himself in popularity.

Now, if you don’t know what a “Premium Format Figure” is, it’s pretty much a statue. Yeah, you might think that this is an action figure of some kind from the name, but there are no moving parts. Though, and if you’re a collector and fan of the IP, PFF’s are incredibly accurate recreations of the subject.

A strong and fearless veteran of the Galactic Civil War, Cara Dune has captured the imagination of Star Wars fans both new and old. This seasoned warrior proves to be a powerful ally for Din Djarin™ the Mandalorian.

She puts her military past behind her and refashions herself as a mercenary, aiding the bounty hunter as he seeks to protect the alien asset known only as The Child.

Sideshow Toys press release

Cara is up for pre-order right now and is expected to ship out sometime between November of 2021, and January 2022. She’ll run you $585.00 USD.

Take a peek behind the scenes

In addition to the above reveal, Sideshow also let fans (virtually) into their studio to see what goes into making one of their biggest new items. Sideshow’s ‘The Child’ (otherwise known as Baby Yoda), is a full size reproduction of the character from the Disney+ show.

In the video, Project Manager Anthony Mestas and Legacy Effects co-owner John Rosengrant talk about bringing this now-beloved character to life for fans to add to their collections.

A limited edition release, The Child life-size figure is expected to ship this winter, and is priced in at $375.00 USD. You can pre-order one here.
