Udon celebrates 20 years with 100th Street Fighter issue

Comic and art book publisher Udon is 20 years old, and to celebrate they’ll be adding their 100th issue of Street Fighter to Free Comic Book Day 2020.

Free is good

If you’re a fan of Street Fighter, then you’re probably also a fan of Udon. The comics and book publisher is the licensor of Capcom’s legendary fighting game franchise, so even if you don’t know the name off hand, you’ve probably seen their work.

Here we have what’s really a pair of milestones too. Udon is celebrating 20 years as a publishing house, and also their Street Fighter comic hitting 100 issues. Sort of.

This isn’t the sort of 100 issues that are included in a single run, but instead spread out across several runs and one-shots. Still, 100 issues is 100 issues, and that’s pretty great no matter how you slice it.

As it happens too, this 100th issue will be free of charge as well. That’s right, Udon will new offering up number 100 as a part of its Free Comic Book Day slate for 2020.

It sounds like a barn burner too, with a first ever knock down battle between two longtime SF faves – Ryu and Chun Li.

Between them, Ryu and Chun-Li have faced every relentless rival, villainous despot, and monstrous creature in the Street Fighter universe. Now, for the first time, these two martial arts masters square off in the ultimate, fan-service fueled fight!
