GameStop to get exclusive Icon Heroes Flash statue

Icon Heroes is expanding its lineup of DC Comics statues with another television-based character. This time, it’s the Earth-90 version of Flash.

Blast from the past

With an action figure launching last year from Mattel, the 90s TV Flash hasn’t gotten this much merchandise since… the 90s. And honestly, even then he didn’t get much. There was a Flash figure as a part of Toy Biz’ DC Heroes line and that was about it. Of course, there’s a good reason for the resurgence in popularity. It has nothing to do with those old episodes either. Well, pretty much nothing.

It was only last year that actor John Wesley Shipp donned the red bodysuit once again. Only this time it was for the current Flash show. If you don’t follow that, the CW’s version of the superhero regularly dips into and out of alternate realities and timelines. That’s where Shipp’s version came in, in a crossover event called Elseworlds.

The costume he wore for the event was pretty much exact to the original 90s version. It remains incredibly faithful to the DC Comics version at the time. Not that actor Grant Gustin’s costume isn’t cool, but that original is tough to beat.

Now here we are, less than a year later with an exclusive statue commemorating the event. The piece is from Icon Heroes. A GameStop exclusive, it looks to be just as faithful to Shipp’s original costume as that one was to the comics.

Standing in at 8.6″ high and crafted from polystone, this version of the Scarlet Speedster will be available in the third quarter of this year. The pre-order link is live as of now too, so if you’re so inclined, click here.
