11 new titles arrive for SNK 40th Anniversary today

If you have SNK 40th Anniversary Collection on the Nintendo Switch, today’s your day. 11 new classics are available for download.

Classic SNK

Released not all that long ago, the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection includes a pretty packed set of old school SNK games. It’s unique too, in that there are no Neo Geo games in there at all.

Instead, SNK has included only pre-NG games from both the arcades and the NES. That means you won’t find the likes of Metal Slug and King of Fighters, but will find multiple versions of Ikari Warriors and POW. It’s cool stuff, and especially nice to see on Nintendo’s system since there’s no virtual console this generation.

Now the collection is growing too, giving gamers a little more bang for their buck. SNK has released another 11 games for the set today, including some little known titles. All of the above is free if you have the base game, and can be downloaded right now.

Just how you can get all of them though, is a little odd. Nine of the games released are just set to be patched in, so there’s nothing special you have to do to get them. On the other hand, Beast Busters and SAR: Search and Rescue have to be downloaded off of the eShop in a special bundle.

Here’s the complete list of what’s included:

  • Munch Mobile
  • Fantasy
  • Sasuke vs. Commander
  • Chopper I
  • Time Soldiers
  • Bermuda Triangle
  • Paddle Mania
  • Ozma Wars
  • Beast Busters
  • SAR: Search and Rescue
  • World Wars
