All current Ubisoft Club points to expire in April under new system

Ubisoft has reconfigured its “Ubisoft Club”. That means that currently accrued points will all be expiring as of April of 2019.

The Club, it is a-changing

I have to admit, I barely even knew that Ubisoft had a club. Or that you could accrue points (called Club Units) by buying stuff, to then use towards more stuff. Even though I only kinda/sorta knew it existed, this news still annoys me ever-so-slightly.

In a letter sent around to gamers today, the publisher announced that changes made to their Club would affect points earned till now. The long and the short of it is that any points that you’ve built up from making purchases will expire as of March 31st.

This is universal for pre-reformat points. Also, from this moment forward newly attained points will expire after a period of two years. For their part, Ubi says that they’ve massively improved their Club.

The Club now has Weekly Challenges, new Reward possibilities, and Sam… “your personal gaming assistant.”

So basically, if you have a bunch of Units sitting around, make sure you use them. It’s not exactly urgent, but March 31st isn’t all that far off either. And as Ubisoft made perfectly clear today, if you don’t use ’em, you’ll lose ’em.
