The King of Iron Fist tournament is back, with an early June launch confirmed for Tekken 7.
The best fights are personal in Tekken 7
Tekken 7 is the first title in the long running series in a while. And actually, it’s the first numbered one since 2007. That’s kind of a stunner. Especially considering that Bandai Namco’s fighter is pretty easily one of the most popular one-on-one’s in gaming.
Though it does kind of seem like the wait might have been worth it. This seventh entry looks like it brings the Mishima storyline to a close at long last. If you’re a fan, then you know that’s cool all by itself. The feud has been percolating since the original after all. But there’s more than that packed into this one’s storyline. Don’t forget the Street Fighter crossover element.
If you missed him in that trailer above, Akuma is in this one. And he’s far more than a tacked on fighter. The raging demon is looking to bring the pain to villain Heihachi. Two huge bad guys battling it out? That should be cool on a few different levels.
As you might imagine too, there’ll be a collector’s edition for this one. It’s a beefy one too, including a 12″ tall statue. Oh and yes, there’s a Season Pass as well. And even a little added incentive for long time fans to pick up the game on PS4. As for the magical date, all of the above hits stores on June the 2nd, when Tekken 7 rings its bell.
