Guardians of the Galaxy game coming from Telltale

Fresh from their foray into the DC Universe, Telltale Games is hitting Marvel Comics with Guardians of the Galaxy.

Licensed games have come a long way. In just the early 2000’s, we would probably have been looking at a mindless third-person action game for a Guardians of the Galaxy tie-in. And now? We get a five-part adventure game, which I’m sure will be loaded with Telltale’s usual flair and style.

As you might expect, and has become the norm, there’ll be a retail disc as well as the downloadable episodes. That season pass disc will include the first episode in physical form, plus included downloads for the rest. No, it’s not all on the disc, but at least it’s something for the physical fans out there. No word though, on whether it’ll drop at the same time as the first episode of the digital version.

And when might that be? No firm date exists yet, but you can look for Guardians of the Galaxy to hit consoles, the PC, and mobile platforms some time in 2017.
