The One:12 line grows yet again, with the addition of a brand new villain- Captain America’s foe the Red Skull.
One:12 runs Red
Well, I’ve said enough good things about this line in the past for you to be well aware of the fact that I freaking love the One:12 Collection. Mezco Toyz’ crown jewel, One:12 is just about everything that you could want from a collector toy line. Massive amounts of detail, cloth clothing that actually fits correctly, and sculpts that are spot-on. Add to that the sick licenses that they’ve tied down for it, and this is a collection that pretty much any comic fan should take a long look at.
And the latest addition, revealed at NYCC this past weekend in all his glory, is none other than the classic baddie, Red Skull.
Johann Schmidt AKA The Red Skull; evil super soldier and commander of the world threatening organization known as Hydra. Having aspirations of total global conquest and infused with a version of the super soldier serum the Red Skull quickly became Captain America’s archenemy. With the militia force of Hydra’s army at his disposal and harnessing the untold power of the Cosmic Cube the Red Skull is a constant threat to all of humanity.
The origin of the Red Skull has had numerous revisions over his nearly 8-decade history. Likewise his appearance has also changed, but the One:12 Collective has perfectly captured the menacingly evil crimson death’s head that has remained part of his trademark appearance.
Max detail and accessories
First, this looks to be a great sculpt. Skull looks fantastically similar to his comic book counterpart, and comes complete with appropriately evil Hydra costuming. He’s also got 30 points of articulation, so he should look awesome fighting with your Cap figure any time.
And, of course, he comes complete with not just a pistol, but also the Cosmic Cube. Or for Marvel movie fans- the Tesseract. Scroll down for the full list of what’s included in the box, and you can expect to find Skull on the shelves in the April-June timeframe in 2017.
