New Pirates of the Caribbean trailer haunts the net

Lots of questions answered in this tease of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Also, Javier Bardem is kinda creepy as a ghost.

Well I guess we know what the latest Pirates film is about. Ghost pirates seem a lot creepier than skeletal pirates too. Especially ’cause they can apparently kill you while being intangible.

While I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of the Pirates movies, they are enjoyable almost across the board. That’s not all that common of an occurrence for a series that’s four films deep already. And when you take into consideration that all this is based on a theme park attraction, well that’s pretty damn impressive.

The fifth movie in the set, Dead Men Tell No Tales stars Johnny Depp obviously, as the goofball pirate Jack Sparrow. He’s the main character of the entire series, so it kind of would’ve been odd if he wasn’t in there. The biggest new addition though is Javier Bardem.

Flat out- the actor makes a great villain. And from the looks of things here too, he’s going to continue that trend. Helping of course, are the special effects, which look to be terrific. At first I was a little lost on the floaty appearance of the baddies in the trailer above, but I think it totally works since they’re of the spectral sort.

Raise the skull and bones, this one looks promising. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales hits theaters this coming May from Disney.
