Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Receives Delay

Those looking forward to Bloodstained will have to wait a little longer

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, was slated to be a new IP that captured the spirit of Castlevania. With a very successful kickstarter campaign, it was originally intended to be released in 2017. However, it was recently delayed to Q1-Q2 of 2018. Koi Igarashi has stated this is delay is due to the addition of a new development team for the game.

Needless to say, some people are very concerned about this. Mainly because of Mighty No. 9. After multiple delays and the poor state in which Mighty No. 9 was released in, there are concerns about Bloodstained going down the same path. Others, however, have defended the delay, saying the comparison is superficial and that Bloodstained as a solid demo. Whether or not this delay is indicative of anything is unclear at the moment. We’ll simply have to wait and see.

In addition to the announcement, Igarashi has apologized for the delay, emphasizing that the reason was for quality assurance. Igarashi said that, ”I feel responsible for delivering the best product I possibly can.”
