A standalone epic,  Bloodshot USA sends Valiant’s killing machine to the streets of Manhattan as a virus turns its citizens into, well, him.

Valiant Comics’ Bloodshot is a beast, let’s put that out there right away. The guy’s had just about anything that can happen to someone, happen to him. Somehow though, he keeps on truckin’ (might be the nanite-powered healing factor). Hell, he’s even had his powers stripped away from him and rebounded. There isn’t much that can stop him. Not even hallucinations (Bloodsquirt anyone?).

Through all this and more, Bloodshot has been fighting the good fight in Valiant’s superhero universe. And now he’s heading to the big city.

Taking place in NYC, Bloodshot USA kicks off a four-part mini-series with a terrifying premise. What if there was a kind of virus that could turn normal people into more Bloodshots? It would probably be… not good.

It’s probably no shock to fans that the nefarious arms company known as Project Rising Spirit seems responsible either. Yep, the same company that created Bloodshot in the first place has come up with a new horror and promptly lost control of it.

Airborne nanites have flooded Manhattan, and Bloodshot is the only ‘hero’ capable of stopping them.

Project Rising Spirit – America’s greatest exporter of classified weapons technology – has achieved a breakthrough: a contagious, airborne nanite dispersion prototype that can turn the population of any city into an army of indestructible soldiers. A doomsday virus capable of destroying an enemy nation from the inside out. A machine-made pathogen that can completely rewrite human physiology…and hardcode every man, woman, and child with the same cutting-edge technology that created their greatest weapon: Bloodshot.

But now…Project Rising Spirit’s top-secret contagion has been released onto the streets of America’s greatest metropolis: New York City. As mayhem engulfs Manhattan, Bloodshot must lead the most dangerous invasion ever waged on American soil and keep a runaway pandemic from toppling armies and governments…and threatening to destroy humanity itself.

If you’re a Bloodshot fan, this seems like one not to be missed. Sure he’s gone up against super-powered foes before, but nothing quite like millions of even more homicidal versions of himself. You’ve gotta admit that’s kind of a new one.
