10 Cloverfield Lane hits home video next week

The surprise horror semi-sequel to the original Cloverfield comes to DVD and Blu Ray.

From JJ Abrams and director Dan Trachtenberg, 10 Cloverfield Lane kind of came out of nowhere, having been one of the best-kept secrets in Hollywood.

Centered around a woman who’s seemingly saved from a car wreck, only to wake up in a survivalist’s bunker, the film is as much a thriller as anything else. Are the young woman and an injured man (there alongside her) being kept against their will by a lunatic, or is there truth to the horrifying picture that he paints of what’s become of the world?

Reviewed very well (90% on the all-important Rotten Tomatoes) and with quite a bit of fan acclaim, the movie didn’t break any records at the theaters. There’s good news if you missed it the first time around though, and that’s that the film will be on DVD and Blu Ray formats as of this coming Tuesday.

A combo pack (Blu Ray and DVD) includes both formats of the movie, plus a commentary track with the director and producer Abrams, as well as 30 minutes+ of special features. Lots to like there; catch 10 Cloverfield Lane on combo pack this June the 14th.
