Dark Horse to publish third Masters of the Universe tome

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: A Complete Guide to the Classic Animated Adventures is on the way from Dark Horse Comics.

If you’ve been a Masters fan this past year, then you already know that Dark Horse has made some of the coolest MOTU books to have pretty much ever hit print. Following up on the The Art of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Minicomic Collection (both of which are excellent btw), the publisher is set to unveil their latest book – and it’s one that’s dedicated to the cartoon that started it all.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: A Complete Guide to the Classic Animated Adventures (there’s a mouthful) is loaded up with a Snake Mountain-sized load of content. Over 600 pages of “fascinating story synopses, behind-the-scenes artwork, and trivia for every single episode of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and She-Ra: Princess of Power” is contained within as the book tells the story of He-Man and She-Ra from 1983 through 1987.

The book was penned by master of all things He-Man James Eatock and even contains “never-before-seen Bruce Timm artwork” and -get this- the long-awaited reveal of Orko’s face. Yep, it’s kind of worth it for that alone.

The book can be pre-ordered through AmazonBarnes and Noble, and IndieBound and will arrive on online storefronts and in shops on August 17th, 2016.
