Waiting for Resident Evil Zero to get it’s re-release? Want a physical copy of the original title that just got all HD-ified? Then it’s your lucky day.
Two horror classics in one, the Resident Evil Origins Collection has copies of both the recently released HD version of the first Resident Evil game and the upcoming remastered Resident Evil Zero tucked safely away on its Blu Ray disc.
Zero is, of course, the prequel to the whole series, and takes place before the infamous mission to the mansion in Raccoon City that set the stage for what would become one of the biggest video game horror series’ of all time. It was originally released as a GameCube exclusive, but will now be making its way to modern consoles, in an upgraded form.
And that new form doesn’t just stop at better looks either, as the game will have a ‘Wesker’ Mode that lets you play as the series’ big bad guy in RE0. Oh, and you have super-powers. And what looks like a mind-controlled Rebecca Chambers at your side.
So far, it looks like Resident Evil Zero is still scheduled for a standalone, digital release sometime in early 2016. It’ll definitely be included on the disc with the original Resident Evil though, when that hits the Xbox One and PS4 on January 19th, 2016.
