If WWE 2K16 was a wrestling move, it’d be a finisher that you could see coming a mile away… but still get hit with.
So it probably shouldn’t come as a shock that 2K’s relatively new pickup of the WWE license will be getting its usual yearly entry. The series has had a year;y iteration for ages, under both 2K and THQ before them after all. What is kind of surprising though, is that it’ll not only be coming to the PS4 and Xbox One, but the PS3 and Xbox 360 as well.
True there’ve been tons of games hitting all four of the aforementioned consoles in this young and current transitional age, but it’s getting a little more commonplace that games are hitting current generation consoles only at this point. We’re kind of growing out of that ‘in-between’ phase of the cross-generation release.
Still though, 2K has announced the game will be hitting everything, which is great news for last-gen holdout wrestling fans. Also kind of strange though, is that there was no mention of a PC release, which seems off since last year’s version of the game just hit the computer. Maybe they’re waiting on sales numbers?
Either way, stay tuned, there’s a lot more to come on this one in the months to come, before it officially hits consoles on October 27th.
