F.E.A.R. Online is ready to scare up some action on the PC

The free-to-play version of horror/FPS F.E.A.R. is out now on the PC.

Coming out os Aeria Games, F.E.A.R. Online is a very different release for the long running series. Carrying over many of the themes from the ‘standard’ retail releases, the online version has one major difference, and that’s that it’s free. Even thought the free-to-play tag is stuck firmly on the virtual packaging though, that doesn’t mean that this is an overly stripped down version of the game that you know and love.

F.E.A.R. Online has a co-op story mode that has a definite narrative, as well as a competitive multiplayer mode that allows players to tackle monsters and other players alike across a selection of maps that the developer calls ‘ominous’, which sounds pretty fitting. There’s also a cool-sounding crafting system for weaponry that actually allows gamers to build unique hardware and use it in-game.

Aeria is promising more than a few thrills and chills with this one, which is perfect if you’re in need of a little spooky game time this Halloween. You can grab a copy of F.E.A.R. Online via Steam for the PC right here.
