Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare launch trailer looks heavily armed and graphically intensive

Ready for action? Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare looks every bit what the name implies in the newest trailer celebrating the upcoming launch.

A new vision for the blockbuster franchise, Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare takes players to a future devastated by a global attack. Rising from the chaos is Atlas, a Private Military Corporation led by the cunning Jonathan Irons. With the most powerful military force in the world, Atlas has effectively become a superpower for hire. Playing as Jack Mitchell, suit up in an advanced exoskeleton and join a highly-trained unit committed to restoring order.

The exoskeleton carries over into Multiplayer, where an all-new movement system changes the way players traverse the terrain. Chain together boost actions like jump, dodge, and dash in a fast and fluid style of play. Equip all-new abilities and armaments in the revamped Create-a-Class. Earn additional weapons and gear through in-game Supply Drops, outfitting your operator in the deepest customization experience in franchise history.

There really is a lot of ‘new’ in the new CoD from Activision and Sledgehammer. Aside from everything that the press release text above mentions, this is a leap for the franchise in more ways than just what makes up the gameplay. A big part of that is the ‘futuristic’ setting, which goes one step further than Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s future time and really amps up the sci-fi elements. In keeping with CoD tradition though, the tech featured is always of the believable variety and most of it is actually already on the drawing boards for real world application. Pretty neat.

Also very different this time around are the graphics. Sure the CoD series saw a release on current generation systems last year, but this year’s is looking like a whole different beast. even though it’s once again a cross-generational release, it’s also looking like one that’s more native to the new one year-old Sony and Microsoft consoles than last year’s model could have hoped- and that one was no slouch either. Fans could be in for quite the treat when Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare makes its landing on the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, and the PC on November 3rd.
