We already know that director Shinji Mikami and Tango Gameworksare putting a heck of a lot of work into the visuals of The Evil Within, but the voicework is sounding just as good with a top notch cast.
I had no idea of the talent cast for this game before seeing the featurette above. Anson Mount, who you probably know from Hell on Wheels, plays the lead of Sebastian Castellanos, with Dexter’s Jennifer Carpenter playing Juli Kidman (Sebastian’s “Junior Detective partner”), and none other than Jackie Earle Haley (who I almost didn’t recognize) from Watchmen and Nightmare on Elm Street playing the lead villain Ruvik.
That’s a grade-A group and one that certainly sounds like they’re doing a stellar job bringing Mikami’s newest group of characters to life… or, unlife as the case may be. I had the chance to see the game in action recently and it didn’t disappoint. Everything that you’ve come to expect from Mikami and his unique view on horror-themes is present and basically cranked up to 11.
If you’re a fan of his, or horror in general, this is definitely one to keep an eye on as we approach the game’s release. The Evil Within is set to hit the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on October 14th in the US, the 16th in Australia, and on the 17th in Europe.
