E3 2014: Yoshi’s Woolly World spins its yarn in new trailer

Just revealed at the Nintendo E3 Direct, Yoshi is setting out on a somewhat Kirby-esque adventure.

This one was more than a little out of left field, but nonetheless looks like a fun time for Nintendo fans that dig that little green dino, Yoshi. More than a little similar to Kirby’s Epic Yarn, Yoshi’s Wooley World allows the saurian protagonist to change his shape and do all manner of things with the ‘handcrafted’ world that Nintendo has come up with. The effect where the eggs strike and bind enemies is pretty neat since they’re made of yarn, and those little yarn-ball ShyGuys are just too cute.

With the latest Yoshi title on the 3DS being somewhat of a dud, it’s nice to see a little something different for the Super Mario spinoff series. You will have to wait a little longer to actually play it though as Yoshi’s Woolly World will debut on the Wii U some time in 2015.
