Ike confirmed for Super Smash Bros

Tonight, Sakurai has confirmed yet another character for Super Smash Brothers Brawl veteran Ike returns.

Admittedly, there was a part of me that was worried as to whether Ike was getting the boot or not. With a possible Awakening representative, one couldn’t help but consider the idea that he may be excluded. Thankfully, Nintendo has seen in fit to include him in Smash yet again. Now, this doesn’t mean there won’t be a Fire Emblem Awakening rep. There are many people that take this as a de-confirmation of a character like Chrom, Robin, etc. but there’s no reason why we can’t have three Fire Emblem representatives. The franchise is only growing in popularity, with Awakening selling 1.28 million copies and rising, Nintendo has probably considered the possibility of adding even more characters from the series.

Now, on to the news at hand; Ike looks great with his new coat of paint. This Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn model is very detailed and crafted with care. He’s muscular like he was in Radiant Dawn, and even wears his uniform from the game. Various screenshots depict him wielding the Ragnell with much skill, the sword even has scratches etched into it showing how much work Sakurai put into the detail of his design.
