Holmes to investigate Crimes & Punishments on the Xbox One this September

Coming to a new console, Frogwares’ latest Sherlock Holmes adventure deduces an official release date.

Already announced for the PS4/3, Xbox 360, and PC, now amateur sleuths can look forward to playing as the famed consulting detective on the Xbox One. It was kind of odd that an XO version wasn’t announced already, considering that it’s on the way for everything else, but that oversight has finally been remedied and the first game in the long running adventure game series will be appearing on the new Microsoft console.

Also made official this week, is that the game will be hitting all those consoles this September. Maximum Games will be distributing the game in the US this Autumn and will also be showcasing it, new engine and all, next month at E3.

“Crimes and Punishments arrives at a very unique and exciting time given the recent phenomenon of Sherlock Holmes in the United States,” said Christina Seelye, CEO of Maximum Games. “It’s not enough to say that the game will be popular among fans. More than that, Crimes and Punishments gives players a chance to embody the character they respect so much. Instead of merely watching Sherlock’s amazing abilities, players are dropped into scenarios where they must use their detective skills as Sherlock would.”

I’ve always enjoyed these games, Sherlock Holmes’ Jack the Ripper adventure being a favorite, so I’m more than looking forward to seeing the changes in action- especially that new engine. Finally, a not-so creepy looking Watson.
