PIece together your past with this new Tex Murphy trailer

Tex Murphy is a gumshoe out of time in Tesla Effect, but can the perennially down on his luck PI figure out what’s kept him in the dark for the past 7 years?

If you’re a Tex Murphy devotee, it really doesn’t get too much better than that. Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure is a gloriously old school, FMV-presented adventure game in the grand tradition of the 1990’s. If it was anything else, it just wouldn’t be Tex.

Taking place in “dystopian post-World War III San Francisco in the year 2050”, Tesla Effect tasks Tex Murphy with finding out what the heck has happened to his life since he was blindsided at the end of the last game in the series, Overseer. It was an assault that’s left the detective without the last seven years of his memory and he’d like to know, well, pretty much anything about it.

Gamers who were deep into the series would probably like to have a clue too, though many probably just thought that that wasn’t ever going to happen since the wait from Overseer till Tesla Effect’s announcement was over 15 years. Personally, I kind of just thought the series was going to fade away.

Much like the rest of the franchise’s fans though, I’m more than a little happy to see that Atlus has picked it up and we’ll be seeing the saggy coat and fedora of neo-noire Tex once again. And in short order too as Tesla Effect is inbound for a PC and Mac release on the 22nd of this month. Can’t wait? Click here to pre-order on GOG or here for Steam.
