Name a Skylander in Activision and Fritos new contest

PepsiCo’s Fritos line of snacks and publisher Activision have teamed to make a fan’s dream come true in more ways than one.

“This is the third consecutive year Frito-Lay has partnered with Activision to bring fans a whole new way to experience Skylanders, while bringing added fun to the snack aisle,” said Ram Krishnan, vice president of marketing, Frito-Lay. “This time around, we’re taking our collaboration to a new level. We can’t wait to see all the creative names families come up with.”

First, there’s the Skylanders thing, which is pretty awesome all by itself. One lucky fan will get to have their name chosen for a new Skylanders character that’s set to appear in the next game in the series (Oh yeah, I guess that’s kind of an announcement there too). Entering is simple stuff; between now and March 21st, fans (over 18 year old fans) can head on over to fritolay.com/skylanders and have a look at the three characters above.

From there they’ll be able to actually enter the contest by entering a name for one of those characters and then writing a 200 word bit about why that specific Skylander is who they are and why they chose the name. Now here’s the best part; not only will the winner’s chosen character be in the new game and on the packaging, but that lucky fan will also be on the receiving end of a $100k scholarship. Yeah, that’s pretty big time.
