Guardians of the Galaxy #12 (Comics) Preview

The trial of Jean Grey continues as the Guardians and the X-Men race to save her from the judgement of the Shi’ar and the… Spartax Empire?

Marvel is pleased to present your first look at GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #12, from the rock star creative team of Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli! Jean Grey has been abducted by the Shi’ar Empire – accused of cataclysmic crimes she has yet to commit. But not all is as it seems. How are Star-Lord’s malevolent father and the Spartax Empire involved? Now, as the Guardians of the Galaxy and the All-New X-Men race to the edge of the deep space to rescue her – they’ll enlist the help of some very unlikely allies. One of whom will have world shattering consequences for one of the All-New X-Men! But even they may not be enough to stop the most powerful army in the Universe. Don’t miss the encounter that will have everyone buzzing this February in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #12!

If you’re an old school X-Men fan (like I am), then this is a crossover that you have to be finding tons to like in. True, the X-Men haven’t had a massive history with the Guardians of the Galaxy, but The Trial of Jean Greay has the classic X-team and the Shi’ar; what’s not to like about that pairing?

Personally, if Marvel’s X-Universe of books got back to this kind of storytelling, I’d be in comic reading heaven. And by that I mean real, classic-style X-Men tales with mutant villains (who are actual villains), Shi’ar, Brood… you know, the base material. Bottom line- more like this please Marvel.

The trial continues in Guardians of the Galaxy #12, hitting shelves on February 26th from Marvel and the team of Brian Michael Bendis and the very talented Sara Pichelli.
