Eternal Warrior #5 (Comics) Preview

The story of Gilad stretches into the year 4001 AD in a story that should bring a smile to the face of longtime Valiant fans.

Valiant is proud to present an advance preview of Eternal Warrior #5 – the FIRST ISSUE of ETERNAL EMPEROR, an all-new story arc from New York Times best-selling writer Greg Pak and rising star Robert Gill! Start reading here with a perfect jumping-on point on January 22nd as Valiant’s immortal champion, Gilad Anni-Padda, builds a bridge from the modern day…to the far-flung future of 4001 A.D.!

Two thousand years from today, the planet has been transformed by science, technology…and war. The centuries have not been kind to the Earth’s own undying warrior, but a battle that could change everything is only just beginning for the Eternal Emperor and the tattered remnant of humanity under his protection. Will this be a new dawn for the age of heroes – or its death knell? And what uncanny confluence of science, myth, and magic has rendered the world – and its own Eternal Warrior – into war-ravaged remnants of their former selves!

Out of the pages of Unity, the Eternal Warrior makes history on January 22nd with a groundbreaking new vision of Valiant’s famous future 4001 A.D. timeline, beginning in Eternal Warrior #5 – also featuring stunning variant covers by Dave Bullock (Batman: Black and White) and David Mack (Daredevil, Kabuki)!

This particular story is pretty cool just for what it is, but there’s another reason to be excited about it too and Valiant Comics fans from the ’90s know why. The future timeline was uber important to the original Valiant U and now here in the third year of the brand’s relaunch, we’re just starting to get another taste of it- and that’s a very good thing.

Valiant’s 4001 AD stuff was kind of like a side-story to the whole of the Valiant catalog of books the first time around; supplying all-new characters and stories that couldn’t take place in the modern universe, but still included the Valiant characters and plot-lines. Basically, think Marvel 2099 (if you remember even that), but way more integrated into the main universe and you have some idea of what you might be able to expect to see from Valiant 4001 AD-flavored tales. Trust me, it”ll be cool.

Look for Eternal Warrior #5, the first part of the Eternal Emperor storyline, to start the time-travelling shenanigans when it hits stands on January 22nd.
