SDCC: comiXology ‘Takes Comics Further’

You probably already know about e-comics juggernaut comiXology’s Meet Your Makers campaign, but the digital reader platform also has a ton of other happenings scheduled for the San Diego mega-con like giveaways, panels and more.

As a part of the new Take Comics Further campaign, the company has a very cool tee up for grabs at their booth each day of the show (including preview night). The first 100 fans that stop by will be able to grab one of the shirts that will have a slogan from Take Comics Further emblazoned across the front.

This goes right along with the campaign itself which’ll be debuting new comical catch phrases each and every day of the Con courtesy of Girardville Miners’ Cooperative. The NY-based advertising company has been enlisted to handle all of the branding for comiXology’s newest ad push. The campaign itself is designed to, as the name implies, take comics further.

“We are so pleased to finally unveil our new ad campaign and be able to offer this great limited edition t-shirt at Comic-Con International to all the wonderful comiXology fans out there,” said Samantha Saturn, Chief Marketing Officer for comiXology. “The entire comiXology team is passionate to “Take Comics Further” and we can’t wait until everyone at Comic-Con sees all the surprising places our new ads show up at the convention!”

“This campaign combined with all the sponsorships and events that make up the ‘Meet Your Makers’ extravaganza just builds upon our commitment to creators that started earlier this year with the debut of comiXology Submit,” said Chip Mosher, VP Communications & Marketing for comiXology. “Celebrating my 25th anniversary at Comic-Con this year, it is fantastic to work for a company that can give back both to the show and the comics community in such an expansive way this year.”

You have to give comiXology a lot of credit for keeping their advertising current and edgy. They’re more than obviously the leaders in digital comics, a rapidly growing sector of the industry, and yet they still push forward with new ads and giveaways for shows like SDCC.

If you want to get in on the good stuff, the giveaways are scheduled daily throughout all four days of the Con. There are also a bunch of panels (all of which sound interesting) and presentations scheduled both on site and off. Here’s your official list; get your calendars ready:
