Nintendo Working On Brand New IP

Nintendo are working on something brand new.

The creator of Mario and Zelda, Shigeru Miyamoto, has confirmed that he is presently working on a brand new franchise, which would mark the first new first party IP since 2008’s Wii Music.

In the most recent issue of Famitsu (translated via Kotaku), Miyamoto commented on the upcoming games line-up for the Wii U, saying “it’s pointless to talk about other features, no matter how fulfilling, without releasing games of our own, so we hope you’ll look forward to the games to come. Next spring, with the release of Mario Kart 8, we’ll have a general selection available, so I’ve been thinking it would be a good time to bring out a new franchise.”

He also added “I can’t say too much in detail right now, but I’ve been pretty busy with this title these days.”

So, not really anything to go on other than something is in the works, but any new project that Miyamoto is working on has got to get any Nintendo fan excited.
