Insomniac’s Fuse lights it up with launch trailer

Insomniac’s first multiplatform title gets ready for launch with an explosive new trailer.

In Fuse, each covert agent is equipped with unique skills and weapons that are not only necessary for survival, but also help create unexpected and extraordinary results. Xenotech weapons are powered by the alien substance, Fuse, giving players otherworldly capabilities that expand their strategic options in and out of combat. Through lethal teamwork, players can complete objectives and combine their Xenotech guns to pull off kills to earn Fuse points for powerful upgrades. Giving players ultimate freedom of choice, they can play online* with two or three friends yet also play solo or offline with a friend via split-screen co-op. Any way Fuse is played will allow for leveling up along unique character paths, letting players unlock devastatingly powerful Fuse-driven abilities as the game unfolds. In addition, the game’s progression system is unified between the campaign and the wave-based Echelon mode, allowing players to continue improving their operatives regardless of how they play.

For all the trouble Fuse had in its journey to the retail shelves and the fan ire it raised, it’s looking pretty darned good. The game is former PS3-exclusive studio Insomniac’s first for publisher EA under their new agreement and looks like it has a nice mix of humor and action- something that the developer is known for with their Ratchet & Clank titles.

Look for Fuse to be out on the Xbox 360 and PS3 on May 28th.
