Marvel’s newest flagship book arrives in stores today and we’ve got s preview of the star-spanning adventure for you after the jump.

Today, get in on the ground floor for one of the biggest new comic launches of the year with Guardians Of The Galaxy #1! Courtesy of blockbuster creators Brian Michael Bendis (All New X-Men, Age Of Ultron) and Steve McNiven (Civil War, Old Man Logan), fans are in for the ride of their life as the Guardians of the Galaxy put their lives on the line for the sake of the Marvel Universe. There’s a new rule in the galaxy, and it’s put Earth off limits to any outsiders. But why has Earth become so important? That’s what Star Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, Groot AND Iron Man are about to discover.

And this is no mere launch day for GotG either, Marvel is pulling out all the stops and comic shops across the country will be stocked with collector’s items to give away for the big day. Both trading cards and lithographs will be on hand (which reminds me of the glory days of the ’90s) for eager buyers.
