Far Cry 3 goes multiplayer in new trailer

There are a lot of great ideas in the multiplayer section of Ubisoft’s upcoming Far Cry 3, not the least of which is the way it’s implemented.

The way things are set up, the country that the game takes place in is broken up into multiple islands to explore. One of those is where players head to experience the multiplayer section of the game.

It’s actually a totally new story too for co-op (which this trailer really doesn’t explore). It ties in, but has no bearing on, the main tale of nuttiness that makes up the bulk of Far Cry 3.

As for the competitive multiplay- oh there’s a lot going on there too-

A lot to like in that piece. The things that stood out to me the most were the psych gas (a great idea) and battle cry’s. Both excellent ideas that look to be pretty well done. Something new in multiplayer, who’d a thunk it?

Far Cry 3 gets all up in the Xbox 360, PC and PS3’s collective grills on December 4th.
