BG’s Game of the Month for March 2019 is Devil May Cry V

We’re a bit tardy with the Game of the Month reveal for March, but it was an excellent game regardless. Of course, I’m talking about Devil May Cry V.

A tough battle

For the first time in a while, one of our Game of the Month votes was pretty close. Not super-close, but much tighter than it’s been in months. That was due to the month actually offering some truly great titles. That’s a bit of a shock since it’s, you know, March and all.

Nevertheless the likes of Devil May Cry V, Sekiro, Yoshi’s Crafted World and more all saw retail shelves in 3rd month of 2019. But while the vote was heated, there was only one winner.

And yes, that was Devil May Cry V.

I actually penned a First Impressions piece about DMCV, and said:

Even with the (very) minor quibbles though, Devil May Cry V is flat-out awesome. Though I’m only a few hours in, I’m far enough along to see that everything looks and plays above average.

I’ve played much deeper into the adventure since then, mostly in drips and drabs. With 3 different play styles that really shake up the action, and a nice quest that includes a ton of stuff to do and some awesome baddies to beat, DMCV is terrific. Honestly, it might be my pick (as of now anyway) for tops on the year. We’ll see.

Runners up

As I mentioned though, there were some runners up this month. Both Sekiro and The Division 2 tied for a second place finish for March, with Yoshi’s Crafted World taking third.

All of the above are great games, just not great enough to knock off Dante and crew for our GotM for March 2019.

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
