Call of Duty comic sells out first run

Dark Horse Comics’ new book based on Call of Duty: Black Ops III is proving pretty popular.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops III comic books follow an elite group of soldiers as they wage a secret war across a futuristic, war-torn world transformed by technology. In the first issue, the team infiltrates Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to take down a double agent . . . but as they close in, they uncover something much more sinister at hand.

Hitting the comics world not that long ago, Call of Duty is looking like as big of a hit on the printed page as it is on the TV screen. Publisher Dark Horse has announced that the book, which comes from genre vet writer Larry Hama (G.I. Joe) and artist Marcelo Ferreira, has officially sold out the first run of its inaugural issue.

Issue #1 is on the stands now (if you can find it) and is also available digitally, but will be graced with a second printing. Stores can order up right now for the second-chance issue, and it’ll hit retail on December 2nd.

Might make a nice little addition, bundled with a copy of the game as a Holiday gift. Just sayin’.
