Mortal Kombat X delayed on last-gen consoles

If you were looking forward to playing NetherRealm’s upcoming Mortal Kombat sequel on the PS3 or Xbox 360 anytime soon, we’ve got some bad news for you.

April 14th is the official launch date for Mortal Kombat X. But the upcoming Mortal Tuesday will be a current generation and PC affair only, as the game’s last-gen port has been officially delayed till the Summer. Exactly why the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game will be seeing their opening rounds later than the other editions, we don’t know, but Warner Bros released a statement today saying that the High Voltage-developed title (all other versions are by NetherRealm) would be held back for a bit.

So far, there’s no official date to replace the 14th either, but if you put stock in Amazon.com, they’ve changed the launch to the 30th of June, so make of that what you will. Oh, and if you’re wondering, that shot above is from the Xbox One version of the game.
