Still not sure what Dying Light is going to be about? The newest trailer for TechLand’s latest zombie action title is suitably epic.
I’m pretty happy to see this trailer, as it was kind of seeming like Dying Light was going to be somewhat loose on story, even though the game looked pretty great overall. It looks like that couldn’t be further from the truth though as this first story trailer is heavy on narrative and introduces more characters motives than we’ve seen before. We also get a slight look at the world at large in Dying Light’s zompocalypse world.

Dying Light, we delved into –classics of international literature, such as Albert Camus’s The Plague and Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness” explains Rafał Orkan, a novelist and co-author of Dying Light’s story. “With our game, we wanted to evoke similar emotions and offer players an insight Roaming a city devastated by a mysterious epidemic that turns people into zombies, players will assume the role of Kyle Crane, an undercover operative sent to infiltrate the quarantine zone. Sheer chaos, warring factions and a suspicious mission all tug at Crane’s decisions for what he has been told is “the greater good”. Yet who decides when greater good turns into necessary evil? “Going into Dying Light, I was blown away by the visuals of the game and was surprised by such a mature, intense script. I’m honored Techland let me be a small part of this gritty tale of survival. Can’t wait to see people’s reactions when they find out what’s really going on in the story and I can’t wait to play the game myself!”– says Roger Craig Smith, the voice behind Kyle Crane and known from such popular titles as Batman: Arkham Origins and many more.into how people react to the extreme.”
Everything about this one is looking like it’s going to be something special, from the graphics to the story. Even though there’s definitely some zombie fatigue out there in video game land (which I have more than a tinge of myself), Techland has an excellent history with open-world zombie games from their Dead Island series and it’s hard to bet against anything that looks this good.
There isn’t too much longer to wait for Dying Light now either, as the game is set to arrive on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One this January the 27th.
