The difference between last and new-gen GTAV is pretty amazing

Have a look at the differences in graphics and detail in both versions with Rockstar’s new comparison trailer, it’s pretty shocking.

Grand Theft Auto 5 already looked pretty darn good. Actually, it looked pretty darn incredible, with some even saying it looked better than the first round of ‘next generation’ games that were hitting the Xbox One and PS4 around the same time as its original release last Fall. This new version of the game set to hit those very consoles though, just whoa.

And it’s not just the difference in sharpness and fidelity either, there’s a ton more detail in the new version and the level of ‘population’ in the game’s universe has seemingly shot through the roof. The desert is now home to hikers, the city streets buzz with even more traffic, and the piers and sidewalks are absolutely loaded with pedestrians. Pretty awesome all in all.

Rockstar says that they’ve used the power of the new consoles to “improve every aspect of the game” and that’s a statement that’s hard to argue with after viewing the difference between the PS3 and PS4 versions. Also, don’t forget that you can import your characters from your last-gen copy and the the new versions have a full-on FPS mode that you can switch to.

As to when you’ll be able to play the Xbox One and PS4 versions of Grand Theft Auto 5, it’s arriving at retail on November 18th. There’s a PC edition on the way as well, but that won’t be hitting till January 27th, 2015.
